THE LIFE-CHANGING MAGIC OF TIDYING UP: The Japanese art of decluttering and organizing

Introduction:

Marie Kondo takes tidying to a whole new level promising that if we properly simplify and organize, we will never have to do it again. Despite constant effort to declutter my home, papers still accumulate and close piles up ready to be put away... With detailed guidance for determining which items in our homes spark joy and which don't, this program will help us clear our clutter and enjoy the unique magic of a tidy home... you know that calm, motivated mindset that tidiness inspires.

WHY CAN'T I KEEP MY HOUSE IN ORDER?

You can't tidy if you don't know how. You GO on a tidying binge only to rebound. But if done right, you won't rebound. You tidy here and there..doesn't work. You aim for perfection. It's a form of procrastination. You are a storage expert. Storage is a booby trap. We choose rooms and attach instead of categories. We make tidying up more complex, when its only two steps: Discarding and deciding where to store things. Tidying feels like a daily chore bot a special event.

FINISH DISCARDING FIRST

Start by discarding, all at once, intensely and completely. Tidy in the right order!! DISCARD FIRST

Use criteria: 1. Does it spark joy? Choose what you want to keep, not what you want to get rid of. Keep only what speaks top your heart. Discard ALL the rest. 2. One category at a time: Collect everything that falls into the same category. no place. Clothes, books, papers, mementos. 3. Focus on your own stuff: the urge to point out someone else's failure to tidy is usually a sign that you are neglecting to take care of your own space.

TIDYING BY CATEGORY WORKS LIKE MAGIC

Always thinking about what will bring you joy if you keep them as part of your life. Does it give you a thrill of pleasure when you touch it. Keep things because you love them- not "just because"

Tidying order: Clothing, Books, Papers (discard everything), miscellaneous items, sentimental items (joy is in the present), KEEP REDUCING UNTIL THE POINT SOMETHING CLICKS.

STORING YOUR THINGS TO MAKE YOU LIFE SHINE

Decide specific spaces to keep things. Designate a spot for everything.

DISCARD FIRST: Pursue ultimate simplicity in storage. Store all items of the same type in the same place. Then return things to where they belong.

Transform your home into sacred space, a power spot filed with pure energy.

THE MAGIC OF TIDYING DRAMATICALLY TRANSFORMS YOUR LIFE

Tidying is a way of taking stock of what we really like and who we are. Letting go is even more important than adding.

You can transform your life in a single shot dramatically by thoroughly tidying your space. You can let go of the past or anxiety of the future, but letting go of things.

The question becomes What DO YOU want to own? What DO YOU want in your life? We don't need to search for a stress reliever, simply make your life tidyer and less busy. Typing is a celebration of you taking control o your life. Tidying is an act of balancing. Your living space affects your mind and your body. BE SURROUNDED BY THINGS THAT SPARK JOY AND MAKE YOU HAPPY!!!

SUMMARY

Start by discarding. Then organize your space, thoroughly, completely in one go.

A dramatic reorganization of the home causes correspondingly dramatic changes in lifestyle and perspective. It is transforming. When you put your house in order, you put your affairs in order.

You end up surrounded only by the things you love. THERE IS MAGIC IN TIDYING!!
